ways to love your flowers a little bit longer!

“Flowers are not supposed to last. Their job is to help us to stay in the present… They grow, they blossom, they thrive, and then they are gone.
You have to stop and just be in the moment. Otherwise, you blink, and what’s gonna happen? They’re gone.”

– Kristen Griffith-VanderYacht

Follow these steps to help extend the life and enjoyment of your floral arrangement!

Cut

Remove all packaging from your bouquet / arrangement. Using sharp scissors, trim the stems at a 45 degree angle. This increase the surface area of the stems for water absorption, allowing the flower to intake more nutrients and stay fresh longer

Vessel

Fill a clean vase with fresh, room-temperature / cool water. Avoid using water with impurities, as this can affect the nutrients the flowers need. Remove any foliage or leaves from the lower part of the stems touching the water to prevent bacterial growth in water.

Placement

Place the flowers in locations away from direct sunlight or sources of high heat, such as kitchen stoves or radiators, as prolonged exposure can cause them to wilt and shorten their lifespan. Choose a cool spot to extend their freshness.

Repeat

Refresh the water every 2-3 days. Clean the vase, re-trim the stems, and remove any leaves from the lower part of the stems that touch the water. As individual flowers start to wilt, remove them from the arrangement so they don’t affect non-wilting blooms

Tiny Home Floral blooms can be expected to last 5+ days if they are well looked after.
